Being a small development house with a quite a lot of development done while I am in hotel rooms around the world, our code repository was under attack.
In the past we have used Sourcesafe as our code repository but since having lots of fun with remote checkouts it was getting frustrating, a couple of weeks we had yet another corruption in the sourcesafe repository. This was enough to motivate me to trial a project using subversion.
So whats the verdict, simply put its great. It works simply and we can all work together simply since subversion is targeting the opensource community its actually aimed at a world spread development team. The merging of XML files is interesting but this has been explained to me because I should change the merging tool, which I am currently looking at.
If your using sourcesafe I would definately recommend taking a look at Subversion and TortoiseSVN
